From Inspiration 2 Creation: Geometric Menu Cards

Always one to be pulled in by the allure of a bold pattern, whenever one catches my eye while I’m out shopping (I mean, researching), I’ll take a snapshot of it for potential use at a later date.  Not only does this satisfy my need for vivid graphics, but it also fulfills the crossword-puzzle-and-sudoku-loving part of me as I get to figure out how to recreate the pattern in Illustrator.

Hello!  So I’m sorry that I’ve been a little MIA… The past week and a half have been filled with some wonderful meetings with some of the best wedding and event industry professionals, as well as networking and brainstorming sessions with some brilliant minds and consultations with potential new clients on their wedding planning and design.  Whew!  It’s been fun, inspiring and a just a little bit exhausting too.

Football games igniting a creative spark?  Answer: yes!  OK, let me start at the beginning…

On Saturday, I headed down to Francis-Orr* in Corona Del Mar with my bestie and bride-to-be Dana so she could take a look at their wedding invitation options and start getting an idea of what styles, printing types and designs she liked.  On the way from our parking spot to the store, one of the side walls on the building caught my eye – the bricks formed a really great geometric print, so I paused to snap a quick pic:
